The Cape, a Thompson Hotel in Cabo San Lucas

The Cape A Thompson Hotel Cabo San Lucas

In August, my boyfriend and I went to Cabo San Lucas for a vacation. We found a great flight deal for a little over $200 roundtrip and knew we had to go. We hadn’t been on a vacation in a little while, so it seemed like the perfect opportunity. After booking our flights, we began looking for a hotel close to downtown Cabo San Lucas. We wanted something that had really great architecture, interior design (this is all the designer in me), and great views of the ocean. We spent a lot of time researching. We finally found a hotel when my boyfriend came across The Cape, a Thompson Hotel, which hadn’t even opened yet. We were a little skeptical because the pictures on the site were renderings, but we booked anyway. The price was half- off what it would be when they were officially opened and they were offering a package that gave you a 4th night free plus room credit if you booked 3 nights. I was also aware of the Thompson Hotel on South Beach and heard nothing but good things so I figured we would be in good hands.

Fast forward to our day of arrival, we booked a car service that we found on Trip Advisor to take us to the hotel. The car service included a 30 minute stop at a grocery store. The ride from the airport to the hotel was about 40 minutes excluding the grocery store stop. When we arrived at The Cape, we were completely blown away. It was everything that we could’ve imagined. We were greeted with a refreshing cucumber and cactus tea and after we checked in an attendant gave us a quick overview tour. We were then escorted to our room. Let’s just say when we opened the door, this happened.

By the way, this post is picture heavy, but you’ll quickly understand why.
